B&B Signature Door Refinishing Process Rejuvenation & Black Satin Door Painting Pensacola Florida.

Updated: Jun 2, 2018

At B&B not only do we specialize in Cabinet Painting & Refinishing for the Pensacola, Pace-Milton & Gulf Breeze areas, but we also excel in Door Rejuvenation. We are the Refinishing Specialist's. We attune our thinking toward Restoration and have coined the phrase Door Rejuvenation to encompass the idea. We believe every finish should be a Craftsman Quality Fine-Finish.

AT B&B WE ONLY USE GREEN SAFE CLEANING PRODUCTS

CLEANING IS THE KEY TO LONGEVITY THRU PROPER BOND

The First and often skipped step is De-greasing the Door in question and removing any contaminants that a Professional Refinishing Expert should not be sanding back down into the old finish.

When B&B accesses your Door Project we analyze not only what the best product is for the application, but we take it one step further back-wards in the hopes that we can prevent any repeated issues with the current finish on top of your old finish by using an Essential Bonding Primer.

In Some cases, if the substrate is aged and dry wood, the wood fibers have been sapped of all of their moisture -- thus are very brittle and prone to wood fiber blow-out if too aggressive in these delicate areas.

B&B REPAIRS SURFACES TO ACHIEVE A FACTORY-NEW LOOK

REPAIRS REDUCE ESTHETIC IMPERFECTIONS ON THE SURFACE

Repairs on the surface are made in preparation for a light coat of white pigmented primer for quick dry time before the actual Deep Penetrating Slow Drying Primer. This Primer is recommended because it chemically seals the wood and Rejuvenates the surface of the substrate in preparation for the Top-coat.

Once the Repairs are made and allowed to dry the next step will be sanding to achieve a smooth but etched surface for the Bonding Primer.

AT B&B WE EXCLUSIVELY USE FESTOOL HEPA CERTIFIED DUST EXTRACTION AND ROTEX SANDERS & ABRASIVES FOR ACHIEVE OUR BEAUTIFUL SIGNATURE FINE-FINISH

SANDING THE SURFACE WHILE REMOVING THE DUST AT THE SOURCE PRODUCES A SMOOTH CONTAMINANT FREE BASE FOR OUR FINE-FINISH

During our Signature Process it is normative to use a Gear Driven Rotex Sander with HEPA Dust Extraction to achieve a smooth finish, but as stated earlier the conditions on some substrates depending on age and damage will not allow for mechanical driven Sanders.

Other times a more fine-tuned approach is necessary to achieve the desired result. Some of these areas will call for a hand-sand only in order to remove part or all of the failing clear coat to have a uniform enough surface for our standards in Excellence. Luckily at B&B we also have dust extraction for our fine-hand sanding, when the project calls for such techniques.

B&B PRIMES ALL SURFACES THAT WILL RECEIVE A PAINT FINISH TOP-COAT TO ENSURE PROPER BOND AND LONGEVITY

THE PRIMER IS ESSENTIAL IN PREPARING THE SURFACE FOR FOR OUR SIGNATURE FINE-FINISH TOP-COAT.

The Particular Color Chosen was quite a bold choice, but we did have near perfect conditions to consider use of a color such as Benjamin Moore's "10 Downing Street" in Aura Grand Entrance with a Soft-Satin Finish. For optimal coverage the Primer should be tinted to the approximate color of the Finish Coat.

Once the Finish Coat of Primer was sprayed, we then allowed the door to Dry for 72 hours for full dry & curing process. The Primer was sprayed evenly with one coat of Base 4 tinted Primer on top of the preliminary priming around the repair areas.
